A little bit about Beautography

Beautography is run by two sisters, Julie is the beauty therapist/make-up artist and Nicola is the photographer. Our passion for our work and equally high standards has put together a winning team! We pride ourselves in being a friendly family run business that thrive on exceeding your expectations. We have a team of fully trained Beauty Therapists, Makeup Artists, Hair Stylists and Photographers.

Nicola Friel – Head Photographer

I am a creative individual, passionate about capturing emotion and personality in my pictures. My passion for Photography began during my travels in previous years to South Africa, Australia and Cyprus. Apart from amazing sights and weather, I learned a lot about the people there and their cultures which I found very interesting. I love photographing people and love my job. Not only does it suit my bubbly personality, it is also very good fun! I feel that I am lucky I do what I do.

I have previously worked with National photography and Publishing companies and have lots of experience in creating what the customer wants. I pride myself in giving everyone a friendly yet professional service.

How Beautography started:

Realising both of us having an interest in business, we thought it would be an amazing idea to put the two services together. Realising we would be the first in Scotland got us really excited about the idea. We went through several different names for the business and in the end came up with “BEAUTOGRAPHY’ which was the most ideal name, putting our service to the point as well as being nice and catchy!

Julie Friel – Head Beauty Therapist

I never really knew what I wanted to be when I was younger! From School, I worked mainly in office work then went travelling around Australia which was amazing! They say the sun goes to your head… well for me it did… I jumped 14 thousand feet from a perfectly good working plane! Good Times!

I Studied at ‘Mary Reid International Spa Academy’ in Edinburgh. I couldn’t believe my luck when I was accepted onto the course. I was so excited. Achieving Credit passes in all my exams, I was very proud of myself.

I worked for ‘Stobo Castle Health Spa’ which gave me much experience and the ability to use my top, quality skills! Having worked with back to back treatments I treated many different clients. I enjoyed my time there but found that I wanted to give my clients a more personal service, and be able to help any conditions/concerns they may have.

I am an easy going, hardworking individual who has a great ability to listen well to my clients needs. I have the highest level of qualifications in the Beauty industry and have experience in one of Scotland’s top spas.
